KUALA LUMPUR: Accountant Ng Yee Peng, 30, a victim of the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide tragedy, was cremated in a moving ceremony at noon yesterday.The cremation, held at a funeral parlour at Jalan Sungai Besi Lama, was attended by about 60 mourners.
At a press conference later, Ng's mother-in-law, Wong Sai Mooi, said the family returned to their devastated home on Sunday to find that it had been looted.
She said many things were missing from the house, including six watches valued at around RM90,000, rings and gold bangles.
Wong also alleged that a safe in the house, which takes at least six people to carry, had been tampered with. The family has lodged a police report.
There were eight people in Ng's house, including her 2-month-old son, when the disaster struck.

Everyone managed to escape except for Ng, who is believed to have died of internal injuries caused by broken ribs.
Her husband, Ng Yong Shun, suffered minor head injuries in the incident.
Later, Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said there had been two reports filed on missing valuables.
He said both reports were in areas where the houses were completely flattened by the landslide.
